RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2010 – May 2010
We are proud to have now built our third Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show garden in partnership with Cardiff City Council.
This year's garden celebrates the centenary of Captain Scott?s polar expedition to the Antarctic, which began when he left Cardiff on the SS Terra Nova. Edwardian Cardiff was a thriving world class city with an economy driven by coal and shipping. Opulent homes, often with formal gardens and topiary, reflected this wealth and prosperity. Inspiration has been taken from these Edwardian gardens for this commemorative garden, which features a central contemporary sculpture saluting Scott?s exploits.
