Completed Soft Landscape Projects

The Retail Quarter Site, Edgar Street, Hereford

We were employed by Sir Robert McAlpine to undertake the soft landscape works associated a new retail development on the site of the former cattle market in Hereford town centre. 79 no. semi-mature trees with girth sizes of up to 35cm were planted, with the trees within paved areas supported by underground guys and after planting a porous resin surfacing was installed over each tree pit. 3,200 no. shrub and groundcover plants, 1600 no. hedging plants and almost 200 no. climbing plants were also planted and large galvanised steel planters were fabricated and installed within a 2nd floor walkway and planted with climbers. To provide support for the climbers we installed stainless steel climber support wires fixed to a green oak pergola.

We were employed by ISG Plc to firstly undertake a pre-construction survey to identify all areas of Japanese Knotweed on site and then to treat the knotweed before returning to site to undertake the soft landscape works associated the new Morrisons store on Newport Road, Cardiff.

Morrisons, Dorcan Way, Swindon

We were employed by ISG Plc to undertake the soft landscape works associated the new Morrisons store on Dorkin Way, Swindon. 280 lm root barrier was installed around the perimeter of the site before we then imported and spread over 750m3 of topsoil to the proposed soft landscape areas. Extensive planting works were undertaken and the semi-mature trees within the car park were supported by underground guys and after planting a porous resin surfacing was installed over each tree pit.

We were employed by ISG Plc to undertake the soft landscape works associated with the £19m refurbishment of Cossham Hospital, in Kingswood, Bristol. Great care had to be taken as the hospital was open to the public at all times whilst the works were being undertaken.

We were appointed by Britannia Construction to undertake the soft landscape works associated with the Castle Green redevelopment in Taunton, Somerset. The works have transformed a former car park into an area of public realm within the towns cultural quarter for people to stroll, sit and chat with friends, have a picnic or enjoy the events that are now being planned.

Admiral Offices, Cardiff - Enabling Works

We were employed by Sir Robert McAlpine to lift 14 No. semi mature Cherry trees that were approximately 10 metres high, from a Cardiff city centre site to make way for a new 11 storey office block, and to relocate them to their new home in a public park a few miles away.

We were selected to undertake the landscaping to Swansea's latest landmark building, the £29 million Institute of Life Science 2 at Swansea University. The seven-storey, 6000 m2 building was formally opened by Wales First Minister Carwyn Jones in December 2011.

Whitbread Table Table Restaurant & Premier Inn, Camborne, Cornwall

This project involved us in undertaking all of the soft landscape works associated with a new Whitbread pub, restaurant and hotel. It followed on from many other similar projects that we have worked on over the years geographically spread in England from this one in Cornwall, over to one on the Isle of White, and north as far as Hinckley, Leicestershire and Telford, Shropshire. We have also worked on these developments in Wales ranging from Llandudno, Gwynedd in the north to Llanelli, Carmarthenshire and Cardiff in the south.

New Football Stadium, Retail Park and Associated Highway Works, Leckwith, Cardiff

We were appointed by Laing O'Rourke Construction to undertake the landscape works associated with the major redevelopment at Leckwith which provided Cardiff City FC and Cardiff Bluebirds rugby with a new stadium and the city of Cardiff with a substantial new retail park. To accommodate the large increase in traffic that these developments would bring, major highways alterations were necessary to what was already an extremely busy major roundabout

New Audi Showroom, Cardiff Gate Business Park

This project was the eighth to be undertaken by Landcraft on Cardiff Gate Business Park. Working to a very tight deadline the contract involved tree pit preparation, the supply and planting of heavy standard trees, pot grown shrubs and bare rooted native transplants. Rabbit guards were fitted to all transplants and all planted areas were mulched with bark.
